October didn’t get off to the best of starts for the Sooners but a win over their arch rivals is always cure all. Winning in Dallas puts Oklahoma back on track in the Big 12 title race. It’s the biggest game, on the biggest stage, in the biggest rivalry of the regular season.

Storylines
The honeymoon is over for Lincoln Riley but that doesn’t mean the heat is on. A loss in Dallas would certainly change that though. Riley’s challenge is to refocus his team for their biggest game on the heels of their biggest loss.
There’s no doubt that Oklahoma will be motivated and enthusiastic to play but that’s no guarantee that we’ll see a fundamentally sound defensive performance. There’s a lot to correct on this squad following the Iowa State loss and the majority of it starts on the defensive side of the ball.
After starting the season 1-2, Tom Herman seems to have the Longhorns moving in the right direction. Wins over Iowa Stat and Kansas State have Texas tied with TCU for the top spot in the Big 12. A win over Oklahoma would reinvigorate a dangerously rabid fan base and validate the rise of the Longhorns.
