On Saturday, Neville Gallimore was noticable absent on the Oklahoma Sooners defensive line. Missing the homecoming game against the Texas Tech Red Raiders with an undisclosed injury, the status of Gallimore remains questionable for Bedlam. Knowing the run defense has struggled from time to time, the defensive tackle could prove to be a key piece of the picture against Oklahoma State this coming weekend.
During the press conference on Monday afternoon, Lincoln Riley took the podium. Addressing the situation, Riley said that Gallimore needs to “progress some” in order to return to the field at the end of the week. However, the redshirt sophomore wasn’t the only piece along the defensive line mentioned with injury talk.
Asked about Matt Romar and his progress, Riley responded with the hope that he’ll return before the end of the year. Playing in just three games this season as a starter, the presence of Romar in the middle continues to be missed. A force that requires a double team more often than not frees up the pass rushers. Without Romar, the pass rush suffers undoubtedly.
Unfortunately, due to a few set backs, there is currently no time table for the return of Romar.
