Oklahoma’s Rodney Anderson Named The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award National Player of the Week

Rodney Anderson’s best week ever just keeps getting better and better. After leading the Sooners to a 38-20 win over #6 TCU Saturday night, Anderson was named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week on Monday. Tuesday he was named The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award National Player of the Week.

Anderson went for 151 yards, and two touchdowns, on 23 carries. He also added a career-high 139 yards and two more scores on five receptions…which was also a career-high.

For his efforts, Anderson became the first FBS player since at least 1996 to register at least 139 rushing and 139 receiving yards in a game. He racked up a career-high 290 all-purpose yards (11th most in OU history) against a Horned Frogs team that entered the game ranked first nationally in rushing defense (69.7 yards per game) and sixth nationally in total defense (284.1).

Quarterback Baker Mayfield and Oklahoma State receiver Marcell Ateman were also listed among the five honorable mentions for Week 11.
