Derek Green is wrapping up a stellar junior season of high school football at Jacksonville’s Southwest High School and, in the process, would like to wrap up his recruiting as well. On Friday evening the 6-5/309 defensive tackle pledged his allegiance to The University of Oklahoma.

Rated by 247Sports as a 3-star recruit, Green is the 33rd raked defensive tackle prospect in the nation and the 24th ranked prospect from the state of North Carolina for the 2019 class.
The Sooners offered Green on November 11th and he took less than a week to take the offer and make a commitment. He becomes the fifth Oklahoma commitment for 2019, joining quarterback Spencer Rattler, tight end Austin Stogner, wide receiver Trejan Bridges, and athlete Jeffery Carter.
While it is still a long way off Oklahoma’s 2019 class is currently ranked 5th nationally and is the top class in the Big 12, per 247Sports. The class is comprised of football players from the states of Arizona, North Carolina and Texas.
