On Saturday afternoon, the Oklahoma Sooners hosted the TCU Horned Frogs in a top twenty-five showdown. Sitting one assist shy of setting an OU school record for freshman, Trae Young went to work. Minutes into the contest, the freshman dished out an assist to officially break the record set by Tommy Mason-Griffin in 2010.
Averaging over ten assists per game, the youngster collected assist number 155 minutes on a skip pass to Brady Manek. Possessing elite court vision, it should come as no surprise that Young now owns another slot in the record books. Undoubtedly, the freshman will continue to push the mark up the ladder for later generations to chase.
Now, Young will look to take a place in the NCAA Record books in the same statistical category. In order to crack the top ten, Young will need to maintain his current pace. Currently, the gate keepers, Sam Crawford and Greg Anthony, boast a number of 310.
