The Oklahoma Sooners have sent a plethora of talented football players to the NFL Combine over the years. That trend continued in 2018 as six representatives from the university accepted an invite to showcase their skills to next level scouts. However, one player who left off the list was wide receiver Jeff Badet.
After transferring from Kentucky, the senior recorded 26 catches for a total of 400 yards and three touchdowns. Attempting to work the athlete into the game plan, the Sooners handed the ball off to the speedster on several occasions as well. Yet, the biggest impact on the field remained with the younger players. With little tape to show NFL teams, Badet looked to make the most of the “Pro Day’ hosted in Norman, OK.

Quickly making a name for himself, Badet posted a 4.27 second 40-yard dash time. Compared to the times recorded at the 2018 NFL Combine, the receiver would have ranked first amongst all players. Yet, the talented athlete was just getting started.
Following up the impressive spring, Badet took center stage in the broad jump. Toeing the line, wide out seemed to float in the air before cementing his feet near the end of the measuring tape. Quickly reading the number, 131 inches was blurted out. The number would have ranked second among receivers at the NFL Combine this year.
Needless to say, the measurables on this kid remain off the charts. Will NFL Teams take notice and eventual give Badet a shot to prove himself on the field? Only time will tell.
