Paige Parker Earns Big 12 Pitcher of the Week Honor

Over the course of her collegiate career, Paige Parker has remained dominate in the circle. This past weekend, the senior saw 11.0 innings of work against the No. 15 Baylor Bears in a conference bout. Refusing to allow a run, Parker secured two wins over the weekend before being tabbed the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week and moving to 17-1 on the season.

During the two day span of work, Parker threw a complete game for the fourth time this season. With the depth the current pitching staff possesses, it’s not quite as common for the star to remain in the circle for an the entire seven innings. Needless to say, Parker surrendered six hits over three days helping the Sooners to 22 consecutive wins.

The occasion marks the second time this season that Parker has earned a Big 12 weekly award. Climbing to 18 career weekly awards, the pitcher is now chasing Cat Osterman’s conference record mark of 25.
