Pardon the wrong sports metaphore here but Oklahoma hit a home run with their spring football game weekend. A number of high-profile commitments saw OU move up, rapidly I might add, the rankings of various recruiting services until Saturday landed them on top of the board with Rivals.
The latest commitment is 3-star defensive tackle Derek Green from Jacksonville, North Carolina.
I just wanted to say thanks for the thoughts and prayers to everyone that's supporting me but I know what's best for me and I can feel it…so I'm going back home😈😈 see you in a few Norman cuz I'm coming @LincolnRiley @RuffinMcNeill @UncleGreenSWO @SWO_Stallions1 @kravekenz pic.twitter.com/VWLghdEuZE

Green had initially commited to Oklahoma but decided to reopen his recruiting before finally solidifying his decision on Saturday after the spring game. Recruited by Ruffin McNeill, Green received a slew of offers from schools like Georgia, Tennessee, and Virginia before comitting to the Sooners.
At 6-5/305, Green becomes the eighth commitment in Oklahoma’s 2019 class. Six of the eight are ranked four stars or higher.
