Throughout the duration of her career, Paige Parker has provided consistent play inside the circle. En route to back-to-back National Championships, Patty Gasso leaned on the now senior for experience and leadership. Now pursuing a third National Championship, Parker is once again rising to the occasions.
After a dominating week, the left-handed pitcher has picked up a national weekly honor. Tossing a no-hitter for the first time this season on Wednesday, Parker’s refused to surrender a run in 10.1 innings of work. Giving up two hits over the span, the lefty struck out thirteen batters faced. The effort secured a 0.51 ERA in the Big 12 regular season and the Louisville Slugger NFCA Pitcher of the Week.
This occasion marks the second time during her career that Parker has earned the honor. Yet, it’s the fifth time that the senior has earned a national weekly award. With the fifth, Parker effectively ties a program record set by Keilani Ricketts.
