The final 2018 weekly Big 12 Conference awards are out for softball and some familiar faces are on the list for the Sooners. Senior pitcher Paige Parker and junior infielder Sydney Romero picked up the weekly awards after sweeping Oklahoma State to wrap up a perfect conference season.
Parker ends her career with with 19 weekly honors, which is the most in OU history and ranks second in conference history. In two starts against OSU last weekend she pitched 10.1 innings without giving up a run, earned or unearned. In Wednesday’s Bedlam Series opener she threw her first no-hitter of the season.
Romero, who shared the Big 12 Co-Player of the Week award, hit 6-for-9 on the weekend, for an average of .667, with 4 RBI, off 6 hits, and scored four runs. She was 3-for-3 in Wednesday night’s game one.

This was the second time this season that Romero has won the Player of the Week award and fourth time of her career.
