Oklahoma Sooners Offer 2020 DE Jacolbe Cowan

The Oklahoma Sooners have officially extended an offer to Jacolbe Cowan, a strong side defensive end out of Providence Day in Charlotte, North Carolina. As a member of the 2020 class, the sophomore in high school has received interest from elite programs across the country. With 30 schools eyeing the 6’5 252-pound prospect, Cowan could play anywhere from Alabama to Ohio State and the list is set to continue to grow.

Currently, 247Sports has the defensive end ranked as the No. 38 best overall 2020 prospect in the country. Six months ago, Cowan rated Georgia very high as they were the first to extend an official offer. However, the high school star also has deep ties to the Bulldogs defensive line coach, Tray Scott.

Of course other relationships develop and Cowan plans to take numerous official visits. And he should do just that. As a sophomore in high school, a recruit only gets to enjoy the recruiting process once.

Regardless of the early chatter, much will change by the time the early signing period comes from the 2020 recruiting class. When it’s all said and done, how will Cowan rate the Sooners against the rest of the nation?
