The finalists for Freshman of the Year and Player of the Year were released on Wednesday and a couple of Oklahoma softball players were on the list.
Jocelyn Alo currently leads the nation in home runs (26) while ranking second in homers per game (0.46) and fourth in slugging percentage (.955). That’s why she joins Michigan’s Meghan Beaubien and Arkansas’ Mary Haff on the short list for the 2018 Schutt Sports/NFCA Division I National Freshman of the Year.

Parker joins Florida’s Kelly Barnhill and Amanda Lorenz, and UCLA’s Rachel Garcia as this year’s finalists for the 2018 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award, which is considered the most prestigious honor in NCAA Division I softball.
Winners of both awards will be announced on May 29th.
