Oklahoma’s elimination game against Florida is still in the early innings but that didn’t stop Sooners right fielder Jocelyn Alo from claiming a share of history. In just one swing of the bat Alo tied both an Oklahoma Softball and NCAA freshman record.

Alo took Florida pitcher Kelly Barnhill deep to left on the first pitch she saw of the game, clearing the bleachers. It was the 30th home run of her freshman campaign and second on the day.
The shot ties her with Oklahoma legend Lauren Chamberlain for most home runs in a season, and ties the NCAA freshman home run record.
Alo has started all 60 games of her freshman season and leads the team in batting average (.412), runs scored (63), home runs (30), and RBI (71).
A native of Hauula, Hawaii. Alo was a two-time Gatorade State High School Player of the Year, and led James Campbell High School to three state championships.
