Cowboys Get Their 2019 QB Commitment

Brendan Costello isn’t a big name across the college football recruiting landscape but he’s about to be. The 3-star prospect is exactly what Mike Gundy needed to get over the hump at a key position in the 2019 recruiting class. Gundy finally has his new gunslinger to run the offense.

The San Clemente, California product picked Oklahoma State over offers from Air Force, Army, Brown, Eastern Washington and UC Davis. He is currently ranked as a 3-star prospect by 247Sports, who also has him as the #21 dual-threat quarterback in the country and the 117th overall prospect from the state of California.

OSU offered Costello on June 5th and just over a week later the 6-0/183 quarterback became the eleventh commitment for the Cowboys for 2019. As a junior, in 2017, he threw for 2132 yards, with 23 touchdowns to just two interceptions, and ran for 392 yards with five more touchdowns.

247Sports currently has Oklahoma State’s 2019 class ranked 32nd nationally and 5th in the Big 12.

  1. I like his efficient numbers, and the fact that he’s a dual-threat quarterback is nice. The Cowboys haven’t had a true dual-threat quarterback ever, really.
