Looking for the next impact player, the Oklahoma Sooners heavily courted De’Vion Harmon. Building a reputation with the point guard, Chris Crutchfield earned a verbal commitment from the highly touted floor general. Now, on the heels of a gold medal as a part of U17 USA Basketball Team, the stock of Harmon continues to rise.

Recently, 247Sports upgraded one of the nation’s premier point guards to five star status. Harmon, a long time commit to the University of Oklahoma jumped fifteen spots in the recruiting ranking as well. Now sitting at No. 21 overall as a five star recruit, the Denton, TX native is looking like a game changing prospect.
However, if fans are expecting the next Trae Young, this kid brings a different style to the floor. Over the course of his high school career, Harmon gained a reputation as a lock down defender. Standing 6’ tall, the point guard possesses a 6’6.5” wingspan allowing him to play much larger than his frame indicates. But, the length also allows Harmon to rebound the ball exceptionally well from the position. Still, the star at Guyer can shoot the rock from mid-range as well as beyond the three point line.
It’s easy to see how Harmon earned the fifth star in the recruiting rankings as the kid continues to impress in all aspects of the game.
