At the conclusion of the season, the Oklahoma Sooners lost the likes of Paige Parker and Paige Lowary to graduation. With gaps to fill in the pitching staff, the coaching staff went to work. On Thursday, the program announced the addition of Shannon Saile, a right-handed pitcher.

Saile, a Florida native, played her first two years of collegiate softball at Florida International. During a freshman campaign, the righty earned All-Conference and CUSA Freshman of the Year honors. Following up the performance with another All-Conference label as a sophomore, Saile recorded over 500 strikeouts in two seasons. Now, she joins the Sooner program with two year of eligibility remaining intact.
”I chose Oklahoma because I want to grow mentally, physically and spiritually, and the amount of powerful women in softball that have come from this program speaks for itself,” Saile told SoonerSports.com. “I want to pursue my dreams of winning a national championship.”
Saile rounds out an incoming group of six for the 2019 season. Welcome aboard!
