Over the weekend, Rivals updated the position rankings for the recruiting class of 2019 which provided a bit of good news for the Oklahoma Sooners. Theo Wease remains the highest rated player committed to play in Norman next season and the top ranked receiver in the land. However, the wide receiver took over the No. 2 overall position in the class recently.
Making waves in the recruiting world, Spencer Rattler not only received 5-star status but also climbed 14 spots in the overall rankings to No. 21. The adjustments by Rivals places the quarterback above any other player at the same position. Needless to say, it appears as though the future at the QB position for Oklahoma remains set!
Although the Sooners have earned commitments from three 5-star prospects — which paces the rest of the country — the program remains outside of the top five in the 2019 team recruiting rankings. Of course, all of that could change as numerous top prospects remain undecided as of August.
