On Saturday, Kyler Murray displayed athleticism and the ability to make the correct decision time and time again. Leading the Oklahoma Sooners in a 49-21 victory over the UCLA Bruins, the quarterback accounted for five touchdowns. After the performance, the Big 12 labeled Murray as the weekly Offensive Player of the Week.

We’re just two weeks into the season but the Sooners have now claimed two weekly honors after Curtis Bolton turned heads in week one. This time the offense asked Murray to throw the ball 33 times over the course of four quarters. Connecting on 19 of those attempts, the quarterback amassed 306 yards and three touchdowns. However, the most impressive feat may have been scoring two more on the ground.
It’s clear that Murray is a special talent not only on the baseball diamond but also on the gridiron. Without a few key pieces to the offense available moving forward, this quarterback may look to shoulder a bit more of the load.
