Oklahoma’s defensive revival is starting to gain national attention thanks to strong showings against Florida Atlantic and UCLA to start the season. Trying to capitalize on a new wave of momentum, the Sooners sent our an offer to 2020 5-star linebacker Sav’ell Smalls on Tuesday.

Rated by 247Sports as the nation’s top outside linebacker, and the overall #1 recruit from the state of Washington, Smalls hasn’t been hurting for scholarship offers. The 6-3/227 prospect from Seattle’s Garfield High School currently holds a slew of offers ranging from Alabama to Florida State, USC, Washington, Clemson, Georgia, Ohio State, Texas and sixteen others.
Thought to be a lean towards the Crimson Tide, Smalls also seems to be warm towards Florida State as well, indication that traveling away from the Pacific Northwest for college wouldn’t be a problem.
The Sooners currently have five outside linebackers on their roster. They also have 3-star San Bernardino, California prospect Jonathan Perkins committed for the class of 2019.
