The Oklahoma Sooners secured a win over the weekend but remained a bit short-handed in a few areas. Hoping to enter conference play at full strength, the coaching staff seems optimistic about those coming off an injury.
Appearing in street clothes during the contest over the weekend, Tre Brown’s injury is still a mystery. Regardless, the defensive back should return in preparation for this weekend’s pairing with the Baylor Bears. Providing depth in the secondary, Brown’s explosive nature can be witnessed during kickoff returns. Placing the sophomore on the field once again will be a welcomed addition.
Last but certainly not least, Marcelias Sutton suffered an injury against Iowa State. Quickly returning to the game, concerns surrounding the running back disappeared. Resurfacing due to Sutton’s absence over the weekend, fans were left scratching their heads. Addressing the issue, Head Coach Lincoln Riley said “He didn’t improve through the week like we thought he would. He could have played, but with the limited number of snaps we went with T.J. Pledger and Kennedy Brooks.”
Expect those on the list to return as full participants throughout practice this week.
