Oklahoma State And Arkansas Announce Two-Game Football Series Via Twitter

Do you remember that kid who sat in your business administration class and was always looking at Twitter on his phone? He’s got a pretty cool job now working for an collegiate athletic department and he gets to think of creative ways to drop news via Twitter. Look no further than Oklahoma State’s announcement, with Arkansas, on Friday that the two schools would be playing a home-and-home football series beginning 2024.

Obviously the first fan response shows how well this thread was received but the news of a renewed series (if only two games) should tug at the heartstrings of old school OSU football fans. It’s a series that could have been similar to what Oklahoma and Texas have had it not been cut short.

The two schools have met 46 times on the gridiron, with Oklahoma State holding a 15-30-1 record. The longest winning streak for OSU in the series is three games (1943-45) and the largest margin of victory was a 46-0 thumping way back in 1914.

Most recently, Arkansas owns a 5-game winning streak over the Cowboys that spanned from 1976 to the last time the two teams met in 1980.
