The AP Poll features seven teams that were previously unranked this week as we move closer and closer to the release of the College Football Playoff Rankings. However, the Texas Longhorns proved to be the biggest loser of the pack after dropping a game to a struggling Oklahoma State program. Behind the drama filled outing, those just north of the Red River reap the benefits.

Reclaiming a spot at the top of the Big 12 Conference stand the Oklahoma Sooners. Of course, it’s a three way tie at the moment that will be decided at a future date. Until then, Lincoln Riley’s program appears to be in a familiar place while looking to claim a seed in the CFP. They’ll need a bit of help though at the moment.

The help may actually come in the form of word though as some believe the Sooners are the team best equipped to challenge Alabama. There’s plenty of football left to be played and the CFP rankings release on Tuesday. Which programs will be on the outside looking in when it’s all said and done?
