Retaining the title of RBU, the Oklahoma Sooners possess a young but talented backfield. Throughout the duration of the season, the program has relied on the likes of Kennedy Brooks to provide the homerun threat with every touch of the ball. Answering the call, the redshirt freshman continues to provide a spark for the offense.
This past week, the story remained unchanged as Brooks received the call in a slowly depleting corp. of rushers. On fifteen carries this past weekend, the running back amassed 165 yards from the line of scrimmage. Rattling off runs 39-yards and 45-yards, Brooks set up some of the most critical drives during the Bedlam victory. The effort on the field earned Brooks the title of Big 12 Newcomer of the Week.

On the season, Brooks averages 11.2 yards per carry. It’s a nod toward the dominant performances of the offensive line. Needless to say, the future of this back continues shine brighter with every carry.
