Oklahoma State vs. Memphis
Tip: 2:30 PM (Central)
Location: Orlando, Florida
The Oklahoma State Cowboys will be having their Thanksgiving feast in Orlando, Florida this year and they’re hoping the mood will be festive after their AdvoCare Invitational opener against Memphis. The last time the Cowboys and Tigers met on the hardwood was in December of 2014. OSU walked out of FedEx Forum that night with a 73-55 win and the Pokes are hoping that trend continues today.
Standing in Oklahoma State’s way will be Jeremiah Martin who leads the Tigers in scoring at 17.7 points per game. Kyvon Davenport (16.7 PPG), Tyler Harris (14 PPG), and Mike Parks Jr. (10 PPG) are key members of Martin’s supporting cast.
The Tigers like to run the floor which leads to an uptempo and exciting brand of basketball. They are scoring an average of 87 points per game this season and allowing opponents to score 82.7 points on average.
Oklahoma State will look to slow the Tigers down with a defense first approach. The Cowboys are holding opponents to an average of 61.3 points per game this season and are forcing 17 turnovers per contest.
OSU is led in scoring by junior forward Cameron McGriff (17.7 PPG) but Thomas Dziagwa (15 PPG), Lindy Waters III (13 PPG), and Isaac Likekele (10.3) are all double-figure scorers as well. Oklahoma State is shooting 46.2 percent (30-of-65) from 3-point, which ranks second in the Big 12 and seventh nationally.
The Cowboys are 5-3 against Memphis. This is OSU’s third appearance in the AdvoCare Invitational.
