The Oklahoma Sooners appear to be signing one of the best receiving classes in recent history. With the influx of talent, the program suffered a bit of a set back as A.D. Miller announced the intention to transfer. Entering his name in the NCAA Transfer Portal as reported by Brandon Drumm of OU Insider makes the news official.
Earning playing time at the beginning of his career at the university, Miller showed promise within the offense. Reeling in three catches for 72 yards against Ohio State in 2016, it appeared as though the receiver remained prime for a breakout season. However, the coaching staff opted to redshirt the 6-3 wideout the following season. Flash forward to 2018 and Miller has recorded a mere seven receptions in seven appearances.
As the talent surrounding the group continued to increase, playing time rapidly decreased. Yet, the Sooners are expected to lose two receivers to graduation and another one to the NFL Draft. Now, OU likely enters the upcoming year with one experienced option on the roster.
