Oklahoma’s search for a linebackers coach to replace Tim Kish will continue on. According to FootballScoop, Brian Odom has turned Oklahoma down and will continue to coach linebackers at Missouri.
Odom joined the Missouri staff nearly two years ago and was thought to be one of the top targets for Alex Grinch to add to his staff at Oklahoma. Having worked with Grinch at Washington State, he seemed to be a perfect fit to rejoin Oklahoma’s new defensive coordinator in Norman.
As the search moves on, another hot name is UNLV defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Tim Skipper. With previous stints at Florida and Fresno State, Skipper has recruiting connections across the country and could help continue Oklahoma’s success in recruiting both California and Florida.
Another name being thrown around is UCLA special teams coordinator Roy Manning. Another coach with Washington State ties to Grinch, Manning has experience coaching outside linebackers both at Michigan and Washington State.
