Oklahoma State’s 2019 football recruiting class grew by one on Monday with the announcement from Deondrick Glass that he’d be heading to Stillwater this fall.
Glass was a highly-touted prospect from Katy, Texas. Rated as a 4-star recruit recruit, Glass is the nation’s 12th-ranked running back prospect for 2019 and the 30th overall ranked player from the state of Texas.
Rushing for nearly 2,000 yards, and scoring 30 touchdowns, last fall, Glass ended his prep career with 27 scholarship offers. He chose Oklahoma State over the likes of Alabama, Ohio State, Auburn, Michigan, Oklahoma, and Texas, among others.
Becoming the third 4-star recruit in OSU’s 2019 class, he’ll most certainly provide a boost to the class rankings. However, his expectations upon arrival to Stillwater may provide a boost for Mike Gundy’s program.
The Cowboys just finished a 7-6 season in which they placed 9th in the Big 12 conference. That didn’t damper the spirits, or expectations, of Glass one bit though.
“Coach Woz and Coach Gundy, I hope you are, I know you are out there watching,” Glass said after putting on an Oklahoma State hat. “Let’s go get a bowl, go win a national championship and I want to win the Heisman as a freshman.”
Glass joins Hutchinson (KS) Community College transfer Dezmon Jackson as the two running backs in Oklahoma State’s 2019 recruiting class.
