On Tuesday morning, Patrick Macon announced his intentions to enter the transfer portal as a graduate transfer. Playing inside linebacker at Oklahoma State University, the redshirt junior failed to appear in a game after suffering a broken foot. Now sitting buried on the depth chart, Macon will lend his talents elsewhere.
Taking to twitter, the recent graduate said, “I would like to thank Coach Gundy, Coach Glass, and the entire coaching staff with providing me with an opportunity to earn my degree and play football.” Showcasing the gratitude, Macon continued, “I am very appreciative of all the love and support I’ve received from Oklahoma State family.”

Moving foward, Macon was expected to compete for playing time at the middle linebacker position. Previously the starting role was held by Justin Phillips who exhausted his eligibility at the conclusion of the 2018 campaign. Instead, the biggest of the linebackers on the roster in Macon begins the search for a new home.
