The Sooners continue to find recruiting success under the direction of Lincoln Riley in the state of Texas. On January 26, the storied program extended an official offer to 2020 WR Trevon West. Approximately three weeks later, the 3-star prospect announced his intentions to continue his career at the University of Oklahoma.

At the turn of the new year, West began to turn heads with numerous offers pouring in from around the country. Possessing unrivaled speed on the high school level, the wideout reeled in 45 catches for 992 yards and 16 touchdowns. Sporting a frame that can carry more weight, the ceiling for this prospect remains high. Committing early in the process, West becomes the seventh of the class and fourth from the state of Texas.
Still a bit of a raw talent with a year remaining on the high school circuit, West will benefit once entering a college strength and training program. Although the burner certainly has skills that are not teachable, there are areas of improvement in the coachables such as route running.
Regardless, expect West’s ranking to rise in the coming months right up until the early signing period of 2019.
