Throughout her four year career with the Oklahoma Sooners, the program has continuously relied on Caleigh Clifton at second base. Setting the tone defensively each and every out, the senior isn’t know for being a power hitter on offense. Regardless, it hasn’t stopped the emotional leader from getting on base. Clifton instead uses an unorthodox method which has now placed her in the record books.
That’ll leave a mark… on the record books. 🥴📚

Closing out the Clearwater Elite Invitational paired with Hofstra, Clifton stepped into the batters box to start the game. Eyeing the very first pitch, the batter turned her back on the inside pitch. As it tagged her left leg, Clifton trotted down to first setting up the Sooners for a four run first inning. However, the instance also etched the infielder in school record books for career HBP numbers.
Entering the season, Clifton was previously tabbed a NFCA Second Team All-American as a sophomore. Hoping to earn the status once again, the senior is off to a good start as Oklahoma eyes a return to the Women’s College World Series.
