NCAA Bracketology | Oklahoma Sooners Project As No. 10 Seed

The Sooners entered the Big 12 Conference Tournament holding the opportunity to all but clinch a spot in the big dance. With a single win in the post season, Oklahoma’s chance of claiming a NCAA Tournament bid skyrocketed to 98%. On the other end of the spectrum, a loss effectively dropped that percentage to just 56% — a drastic difference! Facing the No. 10 Seeded West Virginia Mountaineers, the game remained a winnable contest from start to finish.

Unfortunately, Christian James toed the three point line as the senior elevated to release a final shot. Hitting the bottom of the net, a quick review officially decreased the value of the bucket to two points ending the game. Behind the heartbreaking loss, Oklahoma must now await their fate which will be presented on Selection Sunday.

Until then, two major outlets believe the Sooners resume is enough for inclusion in the NCAA Tournament field. Heading to the West Region, Jerry Palm of CBS Sports tagged the program as a No. 10 seed despite the most recent loss. Following suit, Joe Lunardi of ESPN also pegged Oklahoma as a No. 10 seed. However, the latter of the two believes the Sooners are staying in Midwest Region.

Regardless of the how the cards fall from here, it seems to be a sure bet that OU is going dancing.
