Oklahoma Picks Up Two More Impressive Wins On Friday

The second-ranked Oklahoma Sooners are finding their stride as conference play approaches. On Friday OU picked up another pair of shutout wins, bringing their season total to thirteen, and recorded their eleventh run-rule victory of the season.

In addition, they also blasted their way to ten or more runs for the fourth consecutive game.

Oklahoma 10 – Dartmouth 0

The Sooners registered a season-high 17 hits in the early game, with nine of them going for extra bases.

Senior Sydney Romero set a personal career high with four hits, including two doubles and a home run, to register her 12th game this season with multiple hits. She also crossed home plate three times and knocked in two runs, marking her fifth multi-RBI performance this year. 

From the pitching circle, Mariah Lopez improved her season record to 10-1, striking out six batters and allowing just one hit in 4.2 innings to pick up the win.

Oklahoma 11 – CSUN 0

Fale Aviu helped lead the charge towards Oklahoma’s eleventh run-rule victory with a 3-for-4 performance from the plate that produced three RBIs and two runs scored.

Romero extended her hitting streak to 12 games going 2-for-3 from the plate with two runs scored and an RBI.

Shannon Saile improved to 4-1 on the season, recording eight strikeouts in four innings of work.

Wrapping Up Out West

The Sooners will conclude their trip to the LMU/CSUN Tournament on Saturday with a matchup against Illinois in L.a.. First pitch is scheduled for 11 a.m. CT.
