Freshman Grace Green was fantastic for the Sooners last week. With a
.667 batting average, 1.500 slugging percentage, 7 runs scored, 9 RBIs, and 18 total bases, Green led the conference in all of those categories. In addition, she also ranked second among conference players in hits (8), home runs (3) and on-base percentage (.667), while pacing OU in each of those categories.
Green recorded her first career game with multiple home runs by blasting two against No. 14/12 Texas Tech on Saturday. She also hit a double on Saturday to finish with 10 total bases, matching the most by a Big 12 player in a single game this season.
On Sunday, she hit her first career grand slam to mark the third time she left the yard over the weekend. She set a career high with five RBIs in Sunday’s finale.
Green also had multiple RBIs in three of four games last week.
This is the first weekly conference honor for Green’s career and is the eighth Big 12 weekly honor earned by a Sooner this season.
