Over the course of the weekend, the Oklahoma Sooners claimed a series sweep and subsequently the nation’s No. 1 overall ranking. Sporting a 28-game winning streak, Patty Gasso’s ball club continues to roll through conference play. Buying into the championship mindset, this team remains on pace for not only a Big 12 Championship but also a return to the Women’s College World Series.

Receiving a majority of the first place votes, the Sooners hope to gain control of more after the UCLA Bruins dropped a game this past weekend. Familiar with many names at the top of the rankings, this remain unsettled. However, fans will be guaranteed an entertaining WCWS on the post-season hits.
Aside from that, the Big 12 boasts a log jam in the middle of the rankings. Currently, three teams are vying for a spot just behind the Sooners. Set to clash with Texas and later, Oklahoma State, can one of these programs shock the nation?
