Oklahoma’s Sydney Romero Named 1-of-3 Finalists For National Player Of The Year

As a senior and two-way player, Sydney Romero consistently built a National Player of the Year resume. Now, the infielder finds herself sitting alongside Rachel Garcia and Megan Good as one of three finalists being considered for the prestigious honor. Which one of these phenomenal athletes will take home the award on May 28th?

Over the course of the season, Romero produced a .429 batting average while refusing to allow opposing pitchers to take advantage of the situation. Striking out once every 27.9 at bats, she ranks inside the top twenty nationally. In comparison, Romero has recorded 79 hits as a senior en route to earning the of Big 12 Player of the Year award.

Relied upon heavily throughout the post season, Romero continuously delivered. As the Oklahoma Sooners prepare to host Northwestern in Super Regional play, the program will once again lean on her leadership.
