Royce Young announced on Twitter this afternoon that the Thunder will sign Alec Burks.
Burks played for seven and a half seasons with the Utah Jazz after being selected 12 overall by the franchise in 2011. He has since bounced around from Cleveland to Sacramento. He shot 35% from beyond the arc in his career, and has averaged 9.5 points per game.
Given his abilities to both handle and shoot the ball, Burks will bring the bench unit a much needed boost on the offensive side of the ball. Thunder fans can expect to see Burks play anywhere from 10-20 minutes per game. While he won’t necessarily play a huge role on this roster, he is the exact guy the Thunder has been needing off the bench.
