On Tuesday morning, the Oklahoma City Thunder announced the signing of center Justin Patton.
Patton is a 7-foot, 241-pound big man who was picked 16th overall by the Chicago Bulls in the 2017 NBA Draft. On draft night, he was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves, where he played just 1 game in his rookie season before being traded to the Philadelphia 76ers last year, where he appeared in 3 games.
Patton has split time the last two seasons between playing in the G-League and dealing with a number of different broken foot injuries, one to each foot. His injury history has obviously deterred his advancement as a player, but he will have a chance to learn and improve his game under the mentorship of Steven Adams and Nerlens Noel.
