It didn’t take Gabe Ikard long at all to set the Twitter world on fire Saturday morning. The former Oklahoma football standout turned radio personality announced via Twitter that the Sooners would be without star tight end Grant Calcaterra when they face Texas at the Cotton Bowl on Saturday morning.
In Oklahoma’s last meeting with Texas, Calcaterra caught three passes for 38 yards and two touchdowns to help lead the Sooners past the Longhorns in the Big 12 championship game.
There’s been no reason given for Calcaterra’s absence on Saturday but speculation centers around concussion protocol.
