A potentially disastrous situation could be developing in Stillwater if rumors are true. Here’s your early warning to proceed reading this with caution because at this point the only thing we have to go on is rumor. That said, there are a lot of them out there and they are not good. According to multiple social media posts, Oklahoma State wide receiver Tylan Wallace has suffered a potential season-ending injury.
According to the rumors, the injury occurred during a non-contact portion of Wednesday’s practice. Again, at this point, all we have is speculation but multiple reports where that a player was injured in practice and I don’t think that can be denied at this point. The speculation comes in particularly with Wallace’s name being attached to said injured player.
Obviously the best case scenario here is that this turns out to be nothing more than speculation and rumor. However, if true it would be a devastating loss to Oklahoma State’s offense.
Wallace has teamed up with star running back Chuba Hubbard to create not only one of the most explosive offensive duos in the Big 12, but in the entire nation as well. Should Wallace be sidelined for the remainder of the season the first impact it would have would be on the OSU running game. Defensive coordinators would feel much more comfortable assigning extra personnel to stop the Cowboy running game if they didn’t have to worry about the explosive potential of Tylan Wallace.
On the season Wallace has caught 53 passes for 903 yards and eight touchdowns, averaging 17 yards her reception.
It goes without saying that we, along with everyone else, will be monitoring the situation closely and waiting for an official announcement, with fingers crossed in hopes that none of it is true.
