Oklahoma Football | Sooners Have A Quarterback For 2020!

It’s a little crazy to believe that the same football program that has produced three-consecutive quarterbacks to be Heisman finalists (with two of them winning the coveted trophy) was without a quarterback commit for either 2020 or 2021 on January 2nd. That’s exactly where they started the day but had high hopes that Dallas, Texas (Highland Park) prospect Chandler Morris would change that.

And that’s exactly what happened as the nation’s 14th ranked dual-threat quarterback committed to the Sooners to kickoff the Under Armor All-American game. Citing his relationship with Lincoln Riley as the primary factor in his decision, Morris’ commitment fills a big, big need on the heels of losing 2021 5-star prospect Brock Vandagriff on New Year’s Day.

A 5-11/178 dual-threat quarterback, Morris is rated as a 4-star prospect by 247Sports. In two seasons as a starter for Highland Park (Dallas, Texas) Morris threw for 7,668 yards and 88 touchdowns. He also ran for 37 TDs and led his team to the 2018 state championship.

Morris becomes the 23rd member of a 2020 Oklahoma recruiting class that currently ranks 10th nationally.
