Coming off a huge Bedlam win the Sooners are back on the road tonight in search of their first conference win away from home since beating Texas 72-62 on January 8th. Here what you’ll want to know about tonight’s game with the Red Raiders.

Series History

Oklahoma owns a 39-26 lead in the all-time series and has won eight of the last 14 meetings.

The Sooners are 9-7 against Tech in the Lon Kruger era. Texas Tech head coach Chris Beard, in his third season in Lubbock, is 4-2 against the Sooners while coaching the Raiders.

The Key To Success

Junior guard Brady Manek is coming off another strong performance, scoring 30 points in a win over Oklahoma State on Saturday. Manek tied his career-best of seven 3-pointers (on 13 attempts) and shot 11-of-18 from the field. He set the tone early by shooting 8-of-12 (6-of-9 from 3) during the first half en route to 22 points before the break. Manek has scored at least 18 points in four of his last five games, including a career-best 31 points on Jan. 18 against TCU. He joins Markus Howard (Marquette) and Luke Garza (Iowa) as the only major-conference players with multiple 30-point games in conference play. He’s the only Big 12 player with multiple 30-point games this season.

Manek is averaging 21.0 points and 7.4 rebounds in his last five games. During that stretch, he’s shooting 20-of-40 (50%) from 3-point range.

The Three Amigos

Oklahoma boasts the top scoring trio in the Big 12 and one of the best in the country in junior forward Manek (15.9 points per game), junior guard Austin Reaves (14.6) and senior forward Kristian Doolittle (14.4). All three rank in the top 10 of the Big 12’s scoring race. Oklahoma and Arkansas are the only major-conference schools with three players averaging over 14 points.

Welcome To The Club

Kristian Doolittle is the 47th Sooner to score 1,000 points in an OU uniform, eclipsing the milestone in Saturday’s win over Oklahoma State. He joins teammate Brady Manek in the premier circle of Sooner scorers with Manek reaching his 1,000 points on Jan. 18 against TCU.

With 699 career rebounds, Doolittle is one shy of his 700th rebound. If he collects one more board, he will become the 15th player in OU history to record 1,000 points and 700 rebounds in a career at Oklahoma.

Follow Theses Simple Steps To Success

The Sooners are 12-1 this season when they have a better field goal percentage than their opponents. Their only loss when owning a better field goal percentage was on the road at No. 1 Baylor.

OU is 13-4 when holding its opponents to under 80 points.

Oklahoma is 8-1 when it out-rebounds its opponent.

Scouting Report

Texas Tech is winning games this season by an average score of 74-64. They’re grabbing 35 rebounds and recording 16.1 assists per game (31st nationally).

The Red Raiders are led in scoring by guard Jahmi’us Ramsey who is averaging 15.9 points per game. Guard Chris Clarke is leading the way with 5.4 assists per game and forward TJ Holyfield is shooting 54% from the floor.
