Oklahoma Football | Sooners Continue To Look At JUCO Corners For 2021

Oklahoma needs help at the cornerback position and they need help in a hurry. With Jaden Davis, Tre Brown, and Woodi Washington listed as the only three corners currently on the roster, the Sooners are going to have to get creative at adding depth this spring until Kendall Dennis and Joshua Eaton arrive on campus this summer.

Even at that, the freshman duo is obviously quite young and only expands the depth by two…two true freshman. That’s why it only makes sense that coaches are reaching out to the junior college ranks for help in 2021. A juco corner can typically come in with a stronger advantage to seeing the field over a true freshman.

OU’s latest offer goes out to Khyree Jackson of East Mississippi Community College. At 6-3/185, Jackson has the size and length that Alex Grinch is looking for with his corners. His nine scholarship offers, with schools from the ACC, Big 12, S.E.C., and Pac 12 all involved, show that he’s a talent that coaches are interested in. The question is, would he be interested in the Sooners?

The above Tweet is pinned to the top of his timeline. I would say that’s a definite yes for interest. The 2021 recruiting cycle is still young but Roy Manning and Alex Grinch have been excellent at holding a recruits attention once they’re able to get it.
