The Oklahoma Sooners continue turning heads throughout the non-conference portion of the schedule. Most recently, the program claimed a win over the No. 9 Arkansas Razorbacks at a neutral site. Proving the victory was anything but a fluke, Skip Johnson’s ballclub followed it up with a shutout of the No. 14 LSU Tigers. In the wake of the impressive week, OU charged up the rankings.
Holding the No. 11 spot in the current rankings, the Sooners previously stood as the gatekeeper to the top fifteen. Standing 9-3 on the year, the program remains the second highest ranked team in the Big 12 Conference. However, there’s plenty of opportunities to secure a spot in the top ten ahead. Knowing the road does not get any easier, No. 21 Dallas Baptist sits on the horizon.
Then, Oklahoma will host the Arkansas Razorbacks in a second pairing on March 17th before jumping into conference play. However, Dallas Baptist hosts the Sooners on March 24 as the teams break from the league circuit. Following the altercation, OU will then remain in the DFW area for a series with the No. 22 TCU Horned Frogs.
