After uncertainty surrounding the future of their careers struck, seven Oklahoma Sooners awaited an NCAA decision. Making what many perceived as the right call, each of the seniors received an additional year of eligibility. However, the lure of a professional remained on the line baiting numerous players across the country to opt out.

Clearly that’s not the case for Skip Johnson’s ball club as the head coach returns all seven players. Releasing a statement via Brad Demco’s social media account, the group collective said, “Our senior season was shaping up to be a special one.”
The evidence of the statement is easy to spot as the Sooners continued to climb up through the polls. Defeating several ranked opponents including Arkansas, LSU, and Dallas Baptist, the program built quite a bit of momentum all before conference play and the eventual cancellation of the season. Sitting at No. 9 in the most recent Baseball America Poll, many thought OU could earn a spot in the College World Series.
Continuing the statement, the senior class mentioned that “the future might be unclear, be we know ours remains at OU.”
Behind such a strong start to the year, could this group be the anchor for a Sooner program looking to return to Omaha next time out?
