Diving deep into the world of recruiting without active sports to engage in, the Oklahoma Sooners continue scouring the nation for future prospects. Looking ahead at the 2022 Class, the coaching staff is attempting to make an early impression upon Keon Sabb.

Labeled as a 4-star athlete recruit at the time of writing, Sabb remains the No. 4 overall prospect in the class. Hailing from New Jersey, the rising star holds nineteen scholarship offers from various programs including Florida, Michigan, and Texas A&M. However, this appears to be the beginning of a boom in interest for Sabb who will undoubted draw more attention over entering a junior season.
Currently a three sport athlete, the 6-1.5 Sabb projects as a safety according to 247Sports. Evaluating the talented defensive back, Brian Dohn said, “Excellent frame for free safety. Carries 175 pounds well and can easily add 20 pounds. High-level basketball player. Has skill set for free safety and nickel. Quick feet. Has loose hips and can turn and run with receiver. Drives well on ball in front. Tracks ball and is instinctive. Plays physical in run game. Needs to be more aggressive attacking ball. Often leads with shoulder rather than wrapping when tackling. Fine-tuning footwork important. Adding strength throughout frame needed. Multi-year starter at top 15 program with early-round NFL Draft ceiling.”
While there’s plenty of time before Sabb will make a decision, the Sooners have an opportunity to impress as one of the first major programs to show interest.
