It’s official! Mario Williams, a 5-star receiver from Plant City, Florida has committed to the University of Oklahoma. He immediately becomes the highest graded player in a 2021 Sooner recruiting class that now includes six players.
At 5-10/165, Williams uses quickness, speed, strength, and superior route running to separate from defenders. Recording 2,448 receiving yards and 33 touchdowns through his first three seasons of high school ball, 247Sports has Williams as the #4 receiver prospect in the nation and the #8 overall prospect from the state of Florida in their composite rankings.
Williams had 34 scholarship offers to choose from and then narrowed down the field to Oklahoma, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and LSU before going with Lincoln Riley and the Sooners. His commitment draws even more enthusiasm for OU fans towards the pending commitment of 5-star quarterback Caleb Williams. The two have been linked together for quite some time with the top quarterback even Tweeting out a reminder Friday morning that Mario Williams will be committing shortly.
