Oklahoma is very much in the race for 4-star cornerback Isaiah Johnson but the competition is thick. On Tuesday the Bluefield, West Virginia prospect narrowed his 21 scholarship offers down to a list of eight favorites that includes the Sooners as well as conference opponents Texas and West Virginia. Georgia, LSU, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and USC are also in the mix, meaning his recruitment will be a battle of heavyweight contenders.
A 6-2/180 athlete who played both sides of the ball as a sophomore in 2018, Johnson missed the 2019 season with an ankle injury. That didn’t stop the offers from coming in though, primarily because of the combination of size, speed, and strength that he possesses.
247Sports has Johnson rated as the #12 corner and #2 overall prospect from the state of West Virginia for the 2021 recruiting cycle.
