The worst kept secret in college football recruiting is now official as the top quarterback in class of 2021 has officially committed to Oklahoma. The announcement from Caleb Williams capped off a big day for the Sooners and will undoubtedly boost a class that, to this point, has been heavy on the defensive side.
Rated as a 5-star prospect, 247 Sports has Williams not just as the top quarterback in the class but the #7 overall prospect in the nation as well. Of his twenty-two scholarship offers he settled on a final three of LSU, Maryland, and Oklahoma. However, it has been widely speculated that he had made his decision to play college football in Norman several months ago during a campus visit in early March.
Williams has been working through the spring, and now into the summer, to recruit players on both sides of the ball. The Sooners have already reaped the benefits of that with the commitment of Latrell McCutchin earlier in the day.
