In what is shaping up to be a big recruiting day for the Oklahoma Sooners, the program entered the top eight for a highly touted prospect. Listed as a 5-star prospect and No. 2 defensive tackle in the country, Maason Smith took to social media to announce, “the end is coming.”

Clearly a reference to the recruiting process, Smith is largely considered to be a LSU Tigers lean. However, the defensive tackle spoke highly of the Oklahoma Sooners on social media in past posts. Previously linked to Caleb Williams, could the crimson and cream pull off the unexpected?
At the moment, OU is attempting to win over the commitment of Smith over the likes of Alabama, LSU, Miami, Oregon, Florida, USC, and Georgia.
