Twitter Reactions | New OU Commit Stokes Rival Fires With One Tweet

New Oklahoma defensive back commit Latrell McCutchin isn’t just from Texas…he’s from Austin. Despite playing high school ball in the Texas Longhorns’ backyard, McCutchin made the decision on Saturday to pledge his loyalty to the Sooners. By Monday he had won over the crimson and cream fanbase with just a single Tweet.

Spurned by one of their own, it didn’t take long for Texas fans to start talking about how great winning the Alamo Bowl is compared to just winning a Big 12 championship.

Of course the absolute best came from a current Longhorn football player who took exception to McCutchin’s Tweet.

That Tweet was from Longhorn corner D’shawn Jamison. If his name sounds familiar it’s because he was one of the many Texas defensive backs who couldn’t find a way to catch CeeDee Lamb last October. He wears jersey #5.

Then there was that moment when he tried to step to Charleston Rambo.

Of course there are also fans who completely don’t realize that the kid is still in high school and are saying that he’s going to get torched next year by Sam Ehlinger. They say ignorance is bliss.

Needless to say, Latrell McCutchen has not only become an instant fan favorite for Oklahoma but has also successfully stirred the Red River Rivalry pot before graduating high school.
